It was a bit of a blow, after thinking that Ellen had completed chemotherapy, and all the difficulties that it implies, and to instead be told that no, the test results are not yet good enough, and yes, there is more chemotherapy ahead.
It took a few seconds to be sure that was what we had heard. Everyone was silent.
“How soon can we start?” asked Ellen.
The answer to that question is “Wednesday, July 24.”
We will leave our house at 7:30 am to walk to the hospital. Do be with us if you can, in the flesh or in the spirit.
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day.
Sending love.
